Update as of February 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. ET: The tariffs proposed by the U.S. and Canada’s retaliation described in this article are now paused for 30 days. The below describes the tariffs and retaliation as proposed immediately prior to the agreement to pause implementation.

Osler’s Tariff Tracker is a sortable and searchable inventory of the tariffs (which Canada refers to as surtaxes) imposed by the Government of Canada on goods imported from the United States in response to the tariffs implemented by President Trump’s Executive Order issued on February 1, 2024. This tool can be used to review the tariff items captured by Canada’s response, the rate of the surtax, and when the surtax will be implemented.

The Tariff Tracker will be updated as more details are released regarding Canada’s response. For more information and commentary, please refer to our Osler Update.

Osler’s Competition, Trade and Foreign Investment group continues to monitor the evolving trade relations between Canada and the US, and will release additional commentary on the implications of the trade measures between Canada and the US.
